It’s been a bit of a weird couple of weeks n the HR offices. There has been a bit of a slump in news and there hasn’t been any games that have made us weak at the knees. Because nothing has tickled our fancy, we’ve been down in the dumps and not really giving you guys much awesome content. However this week is different. Games have been released. Games have been announced. Vigour had been renewed. Then we look forward to the rest of march and more awesome is on the horizon.
This renewed vigour, thanks to Black flag, Thief 4, Tomb Raider and Sim City, has led us to put out some great pieces for you to dive into. The podcast is now better than ever (and I’m not saying that because I edited it) and this, my new series, is now hitting the web. This is Click And… Where I will wrap up the best stuff that has hit the web this week. Not just from Hard Reset either, from all across the Internet. All you have to do is click and…

Last weekend was weird. I knew all the details of the new Assassin’s Creed before all the details were made public on Monday. However, I couldn’t say anything about it until the embargo lifted, even though all the details that were leaked were true. If you still don’t know anything about the game, you can read our HUGE 3000 word Q & A session with the guys over at Ubisoft.
Sim city is one of those franchises that even people who don’t know the ins and outs of the video game industry love. We were no different. There has been a huge amount of excitement about the release of the newest iteration and is not disappointed. Well, expect the fact that many people have not been able to the play thanks to the fact that you always have to be connected to the Internet, but more on that later. Josh Hinke was lucky enough to get on, play, and review the title.
Krystal Brennan is the only member of team Hard Reset that is a lady, apart from me at the weekends at least. Because of this, she is probably the best person give some opinion on the recently released Tomb Raider reboot. Right. Right!? Well that could be sexist way to think about it, but this the Internet and we have all seen worse things than that. Anyways, here is how the legend that is Lara Croft is reborn….with a vengeance.
The Hard Reset podcast as return with a brand new feel. It’s more concise, giving you a wrap of the biggest headlines in the last seven days of games. In the latest episode we talk over the BAFTAs,Tomb Raider, Star Wars 1313 and giving you the opportunity to win Persona 4 Golden. Don’t say we are not nice.

It’s video time. Me and Ben Quy return with a Hard Reset Plays of the Tomb Raider, and Ben is a bit rusty. Journalistic legend Adam Sessler talks about the difficulty of video games and getting old. Finally, do you download movies, music and games from totally legit online sources, well you could be getting screwed by your ISP rather soon. Watch the guys from tekzilla break it down.

Warning, if you are at all a unstable person, you should skip this section and not play this game. Well, actually, if you are unstable, this may help you out, although don’t take my word for it. Depression Quest is a pay-what-you-want text adventure where you play as someone trying to cope with depression. You are givens series of of everyday events that have you managing work, relationships, your illness and your treatments. The developers are trying to raise awareness of the illness and raise money at the same time. I played through the half hour story and was in pieces after. It’s fantastic and moving at the same time and proof that depression is a real thing.

Back to Tomb Raiders with the fantastic Scottish comedian Robert Florence and his editorial on the characterisation of Lara Croft and how she has evolved, not only in the latest game but over years.
Based on last weeks news that EA wanted to put microtransations in all their games going forward, Giant Bombs Alex Navarro threw in his two cents on the whole debacle in another entry in the Guns Of Navarro series.
How about that Sim City, eh? Turns out no one can actually play it. Rock Paper Shotgun give you the entire rundown of the story and tell you why EAs apologies are not enough and that you can’t have growing pains without growth.

I thought Dominos hot dog stuffed crust was crazy, but this is just…well..
This is the horrifically catchy song that’s been playing while I’ve been writing this week.
It is upsetting to me that some people blame Apple for the stupidity of parentsand the naivety of children (he says as he writes on his new iPad).
