DOA5: Two More Fighters Announced

DOA has been my favorite fighter ever since I played DOA2 on my Dreamcast. For me it was never about the jiggle mechanics or silly endings with half naked women (although I will admit they are a fun… albeit shameful, bonus), it’s always been about the gameplay. I love DOA because of its simple yet deep mechanics. I can sit down with someone who’s never played before, give them the basic controls, and have a good match, or I can play with someone who knows the games like I do and have a great match. Either way it’s always a good time.

 DOA5: Two More Fighters Announced

My favorite character since DOA3

Now with DOA5 launching in September we’re naturally getting bits of news along the way. Well, two more fighters have been officially announced, Bass Armstrong, everyone’s favorite Hulk Hogan look alike, and a new character named Rig. We don’t know much about Rig besides his fighting style, Taekwando. However, Rig’s name did show up on an unofficial roster of characters that was ripped from the DOA5 demo that came with Ninja Gaiden. So right now the unconfirmed roster looks like this:

 DOA5: Two More Fighters Announced

We get one new male character per game right?

  • Pai
  • Sarah
  • Akira
  • Mila
  • Rig
  • Bayman
  • Hitomi
  • Christie
  • Brad
  • Lisa
  • Eliot
  • Ayane
  • Leifang
  • Hayate
  • Kokoro
  • Bass
  • Leon
  • Helena
  • Genfu
  • Kasumi
  • Hayabusa
  • Jannlee
  • Tina
  • Zack
  • Alpha152

So we’ve got 2 newly confirmed characters and one of them just so happens to be a name that no one recognized on the ripped roster. So who’s getting excited for DOA5? Also, what are your opinions on the Virtua Fighter cast joining in? Shameless stunt or cool crossover?

About the Author

+ I've never been good at talking about myself. I like to think of myself as a professional appreciator of games. My love of video games goes so deep that I wrote my senior thesis on Bioshock as a digital re-imagining of Atlas Shrugged, needless to say I will never play that game again.
