Rumour Round Up: Okami HD. Steam Sales & Rome Goes To War

It’s been a couple of weeks since the last Rumour Round Up post. This purely lies with me due to not having the time to keep up with the latest goings on in the gaming world. However. time is now not an issue and regular scheduling of Rumour Round Up will now occur. So let’s get back to it and look at what rumours surfaced this week and if they’re worth noting.

Okami Getting HD Release

This rumour appeared early this week and Capcom were soon quick to confirm that Okami would be getting the HD treatment. The title has been critically acclaimed for its style and it should look even better in HD. The release will be a PlayStation Network exclusive.

Rome 2 Total War Will Be Announced Soon

PC Powerplay had an image of Rome: Total War in it’s latest edition accompanied by the date July 18. Then a Creative Assembly’s James Russell spoke to RPS about the upcoming Rezzed games show, which will take place July 6th/7th. In this interview he said. “I’ll be at Rezzed giving a talk on the making of the Total War series, and showing a sneak peek of what we’re doing next. Exciting times – see you there!”

So, this doesn’t leave much to the imagination. At Rezzed Creative Assembly will announce their new Total War project and that will be Rome 2. Expect a release date for late Autumn this year.

Steam Summer Sale Starting This Thursday

This rumour relies on history. Usually Steam sales start on a Thursday. The Steam Summer Sale usually starts in June. There is only one Thursday left in this June, being the 28th. Therefore it is likely that Valve will kick off the sale this week on Thursday 28th. Of course Valve are keeping quiet, but get ready to see your bank balances to diminish as the deals start coming thick and fast.
