Team Bondi Members Create Indie Studio
“At Intuitive we focus intently on quality and content to proudly produce exactly the kind of game we would want to play ourselves.”.
It’s been nearly two months since Team Bondi closed it’s doors, and expediently two former members, Alex Carlyle – L.A. Noir lead designer – and Kelly Baigent, L.A. Noir storyboard/animation – decided to retain their synergistic tendencies and establish ‘Intuitive Games Studios’ of Australia.
As of this post, Intuitive Games Studios is barley embryonic – gaining awareness through a recently created facebook profile, and an obscure one page site. No word yet on what’s in store for the first project, but typically we should assume it will share underlying similarities to L.A. Noir’s developmental process and technology.
Prior to starting up Intuitive, Kelly Baigent was doing some work for Tui Studio of New Zealand, and Alex Carlyle was serving as lead designer for Team Bondi’s ‘Whore of the Orient’, a detective thriller set in 1936.
In an interview with MCV, Alex Carlyle spoke about keeping operations – down under.
“I really do want to stay in Australia and try and overcome the drive which is leading everyone to Canada or the like. I want to stay here and make games and hopefully be able to sustain a small studio, provide employment and jobs here”
Very smart considering all the former Team Bondi employees currently in existence.
As we slowly come to terms with what’s happening within our industry during a ceaseless cacophony of condemnation – it’s refreshing to see the birth of an ambitious indie studio. Hopefully by the time the dust settles, and everyone is happy with their respective consoles, Intuitive Games Studios will have something to talk about.
