XSEED announces release date for Way of the Samurai 4
XSEED Games have announced today that the open-world action title, Way of The Samurai 4, will be released on August 21st as a digital download, exclusively on the Playstation Network. The game will retail for a very fair $39.99.
For those of you not aware; Way of the Samurai 4 provides players with a chance to experience an era that forever changed a nation in a very unique manner. The cultural landscape offers countless opportunities for the ambitious, and players are thrown into this world as a R?nin (Master Samurai). Basically, you are looking to create a name for yourself; a very straight-forward goal. Players will being taking their place in the overall power struggle, with the choice to join one of three factions;
- The shogunate pro-governmental forces
- The nationalistic isolationists
- The growing foreign powers
Players will also have the chance to customize their samurai any way that they see fit with the unprecedented range of customization provided by Way of the Samurai 4. That means that anything from the most historically-accurate robes, to more modern designs, to the down-right bizarre are not out of reach. Once unleashed into the open-world; players will be able to do as they wish, from story missions to further the story, shopping for new items and weapons, or challenging other samurai to battle. There will also be a unique online feature that will allow uploading and downloading of player characters that can be used to roam freely in another player’s games as a computer-controlled assassin to challenge and defeat in order to obtain that character’s equipment.
The original Japanese voice-overs have been left intact, heightening realism, and will be accompanied by English sub-titles for those non-Japanese folks.
